Production Shot List

Manage shots, configure camera and movement settings, apply ND filters, use templates, record voice memos, and launch the In-Flight HUD.

Production Shot List

The Production Shot List organizes cinematic aerial shots for each mission, including camera parameters, movement settings, composition notes, and capture actions.

Shot management

Build a shot list from pre-configured templates or create a blank custom shot for a unique production requirement. Each shot card provides the information you need to plan, review, and track the shot during flight.

Build a shot list

Open the Production Shot List

Open the Production Shot List view from the application navigation with an active mission selected. Filter shots by category to focus on a specific production type.

Add a shot

Choose a shot template to start with recommended production settings, or add a blank custom shot when the shot does not match a template.

Name and prioritize the shot

Edit the shot title, choose its priority, and assign an industry category. Use a specific title such as Front elevation reveal so the pilot can identify the shot quickly in the queue.

Configure the shot

Set the target altitude, camera tilt, movement speed, estimated duration, ND filter, lighting preference, and shot description. Add composition notes that describe the subject, framing, and intended movement.

Review the shot card

Confirm that the shot card contains the intended settings and that the shot appears in the correct category. New shots start with a pending status.

Shot cards can include these planning fields:

  • Title: The name displayed in the shot list and In-Flight HUD.
  • Status: pending until the shot is captured, then captured.
  • Priority: The production importance of the shot.
  • Industry category: The category used when filtering the shot list.
  • Target altitude: The planned flight height for the shot.
  • Camera tilt: The planned gimbal angle.
  • Movement speed: The planned aircraft speed.
  • Estimated duration: The expected time required to complete the shot.

When you mark a shot as captured, the component records a capture timestamp and sample GPS location. You can rename, edit, or delete shots before launch.

Camera and flight controls

Configure each shot independently so the aircraft movement, camera angle, and exposure plan match the storyboard.

The component stores the gimbal pitch as part of the shot configuration. Use the shot description for details that do not fit into a numeric control, such as “Orbit clockwise around the south facade and finish with the roofline centered.”

Set the camera and movement controls before takeoff. Changing a shot in the field is possible, but a complete shot card gives the pilot a clearer cue during the flight.

Shot templates

Templates provide starting points for common aerial production shots. After adding a template, adjust its title, category, flight controls, and description to match the mission site.

You can also add a blank custom shot when a template does not describe the required subject or movement. Template names describe the starting workflow, not a fixed set of controls.

Voice memos

Use voice memos to preserve pilot observations that are difficult to capture while managing the shot list. You can type notes, add quick tags, or start a simulated recording.

Quick tags include:

  • Clean take
  • Wind gust during orbit
  • ND32 swap needed
  • Subject moved
  • Lens flare on horizon

The recording control simulates a 2.5-second voice memo. Use the memo and tags to record retake context, changing wind conditions, subject movement, or equipment changes. Voice memo state is part of the shot workflow and is available while reviewing the selected shot.

In-Flight launch

Launch the In-Flight HUD from the Production Shot List after you have reviewed the shot order and configured the required controls. The HUD presents the shot queue, current progress, mission coordinates, aircraft status, and flight telemetry in a full-screen operational view.

Review the queue

Confirm that the shot list contains the shots you intend to fly and that each shot has the correct title, priority, altitude, movement speed, and duration.

Launch the In-Flight HUD

Select the control to launch the In-Flight HUD. The HUD opens with the ordered shot list and selects the active shot.

Choose the active shot

Work through the queue in order, or select another shot manually when the flight plan or on-site conditions require a different sequence.

Mark the shot captured

After completing the shot, mark it as captured. The HUD records the capture timestamp, mission coordinates, and shot altitude.

Continue or exit

Advance to the next shot to continue the queue, or exit the HUD when the flight session is complete.

The HUD supports both automatic progression and manual shot selection. Marking the active shot as captured advances the workflow, while manual selection lets you revisit a shot or change the sequence when conditions change.

Pre-load and review the complete shot list before takeoff. Confirm the shot order, camera controls, ND filters, target altitudes, and estimated durations before launching the In-Flight HUD so you can keep your attention on flight operations.
