Browse, search, filter, and create missions using industry templates and a step-by-step creation wizard.
Manage every mission from one dashboard
The Missions Hub is the central dashboard for creating, organizing, and managing your flight missions. Search and filter existing missions, select an active mission, and launch directly into airspace planning or compliance briefing.
Mission cards
Each mission appears as a card with the operational details you need before opening the mission workspace:
- Mission type and status badge
- Mission title
- Client
- Location
- Date and time slot
- Assigned aircraft
- Shot count
- Waypoint count
- Safety score
Select a mission card to make it the active mission. The active mission becomes available to the other Flight OS modules, including the Airspace & LAANC Planner, Weather Decision Engine, Production Shot List, and compliance briefing tools.
Select the mission you plan to fly before opening another operational module. The selected mission provides that module with the correct location, aircraft, waypoints, shots, and flight-readiness data.
Search and filter missions
Use the search field to find missions by title, client, or location. Search results update against the mission cards as you enter text.
Filter the results by:
- Status: Planning, Briefing Ready, LAANC Authorized, In-Flight, or Completed
- Mission type: The industry or operational category assigned to the mission
Combine search and filters to narrow a large mission list. For example, search for a client name and then filter the results to missions in the Planning status.
Create a mission
The mission wizard guides you from an industry workflow to a provisioned mission workspace.
Choose a template
Select an industry template that matches the mission. Templates provide a starting workflow, and some can preconfigure shots for the selected type of work.
Enable auto-populate shots when you want Flight OS to add starter shots during mission creation. Disable it when you plan to build the shot list manually.
Enter the location and date
Provide the mission details:
- Mission title
- Client name
- Client email
- Client contact
- Location
- Latitude and longitude
- Flight date
- Time slot and lighting conditions
Use the coordinates that match the planned launch and operating area. The location supplies the basis for the initial weather snapshot, airspace context, and Go/No-Go assessment.
Assign the fleet and pilot
Choose the primary aircraft for the mission and enter the pilot information:
- Pilot in command
- FAA Part 107 certificate
- Visual observer
Confirm that the selected aircraft is appropriate for the planned shot list, operating conditions, and required flight time.
Review and finalize
Review the mission summary before creating it. Confirm the client, date, aircraft, pilot in command, and mission notes.
When you finalize the mission, Flight OS provisions the initial planning and compliance data automatically. The new mission then appears in the Missions Hub and can be selected as the active mission.
Mission templates
Templates help you start with an operational structure suited to the work you are planning. You can adjust the generated shots, waypoints, and mission details after creation.
Luxury Real Estate Showcase
Use this template for cinematic property coverage. It focuses on establishing orbits, reveal movements, and golden-hour composition.
Typical shots include exterior establishing views, orbit shots around the property, driveway or approach reveals, and elevated views that show the relationship between the building and its surroundings. Plan the flight around the property’s best light window, then refine the shot list and waypoint altitudes for the site.
Narrative Film and Commercial
Use this template for production work that depends on controlled camera movement and repeatable takes.
The workflow emphasizes high-speed tracking, parallax movement, and cinematic transitions. Define the subject path, aircraft movement, camera direction, and timing before flight so the pilot can repeat each take consistently.
Infrastructure and Roof Inspection
Use this template for structural surveys and inspection work. It supports thermal scanning, facade inspection, and obstacle buffers around the operating area.
Plan systematic passes around the structure and include enough overlap to document the inspection area. Review the obstacle buffer and waypoint altitudes in the Airspace & LAANC Planner before briefing the flight.
Solar Farm and Land Boundary Survey
Use this template for mapping and boundary work across large, regular areas.
The workflow emphasizes linear waypoints, RTK-style mapping, and consistent camera overlap. Define parallel flight lines, confirm the survey boundary, and check battery calculations before committing to the full route.
Generated mission data
Creating a mission provisions the planning records needed to continue from the Missions Hub into operations:
- Three default waypoints for an initial route
- Up to five starter shots when auto-populated shots are enabled
- LAANC metadata for airspace planning
- A fresh pre-flight checklist with items ready for pilot review
- A weather snapshot based on the selected location
- A Go/No-Go assessment
- A battery calculation
- An emergency plan
Review the generated data before flight. Treat the weather assessment, airspace information, battery calculation, and checklist as planning inputs that require pilot verification for the actual operation.

Review airspace status, edit waypoints, check altitude limits, and prepare a simulated LAANC authorization request.
Weather Decision Engine
Review the Go/No-Go assessment, wind layers, visibility, precipitation, and the available flight window.
Production Shot List
Refine starter shots, configure camera and movement settings, add notes, and prepare the mission for in-flight tracking.
